areas where change can be instigated to enhance environmental sustainability in
a service
This includes

impact of human activities on the environment

environments

Ensure nature, waste, energy
& toxins have been considered

Session 2 Develop Sustainability Management Plan
& Support others in implementing Sustainable practices
This includes

Review & identify areas
for potential change in service philosophy, policies and procedures in relation
to sustainable practice

Discuss with stakeholders
any identified areas of potential change
·
Finalise changes after
agreement with appropriate stakeholders
·
Develop sustainability plan
to address change
·
Engage with adults &
children to encourage participation in the service’s sustainable practices

Session 3 Support
children to develop an understanding & respect for the natural environment
This includes
·
Provide children with
information & access to resources about the environment
·
Develop children’s
understanding of impact of human activities on the environment
·
Encourage children to
exchange thoughts & ideas about sustainable practices through intentional
teaching, learning experiences & projects
·
Create spaces that promote the development of
children’s life skills including growing & preparing food
·
Create spaces that promote the development of
children’s life skills including waste management & recycling
·
Explore ethical dilemmas of
waste disposal for sustainability with all stakeholders

Session 4 Provide
opportunities for children to explore the natural environment

strategies including role modelling respect, care & appreciation for both
and natural & constructed environments

Provide children with a wide
range of natural & recycled materials in both indoor & outdoor
